Catch And Release

We encourage all anglers to exercise good conservation practices when fishing the flats of Bimini. For back-country fishing, we are a catch and release only fishing experience.

Types of Fish

Bimini claims four IGFA world records for fly-fishing and bonefish. Somehwere on those flats is another world record fish with your name on it! The Big Game is On....are you on your Big Game?

Most of our guests seek Bonefish which are plentiful on the flats of Bimini Bay and the deeper mangrove lined channels that feed the bay. All this is just off the Club docks!

Venture outside the protected bay, and work your way around East Bimini or South Bimini, and our guides will put you on more bones, permit, jacks and tarpon. Head 300 yards offshore and try you hand at flyfishing for billfish, barracuda, yellowtail and grouper. Regardless of how the wind blows, there's plenty of fishing action to last a week and then some!

The Guides and Boats

In keeping with the Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina tradition to support sustainable tourism, the Club does not operate an in-house Bone fish guides/boats program. Rather, we work closely and seamlessly with the local guides, managing their marketing and fishing calendars so they can concentrate on fishing and building financial security for their families. Each guide operates his own equipment. Their fishing gear seldom fails, and the heritage of their boats are the famed "Bimini Bonefisher".

This isn't fishing with state of the art equipment full of graphite, carbon fiber and other esoteric space age materials - nope. It's fishing the old time way - with skill and local savvy.

Guided fishing is built around a flats management program offering scheduled full day trips from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, or half day trips concluding at lunch. Bonefish Bimini can also arrange early morning and evening fishing as well, simply ask about our add-on fishing.

A typical day might begin with a search for Bonefish or Permit, wading and sight casting on the interior flats. Then, you may choose to eat lunch at the Club or out on the flats, depending on the tide and wind. After lunch, search out Tarpon in our local creeks, or take a shot casting to barracuda on the reefs that are just yards from the beach. Regardless of how you organize your fishing day, end it at the Big Game Bar and Grill for Fishtales and Cocktails. Whether they did or not, you'll soon learn who caught the big one for the day!
